Read MoreCanada’s industrial sectors operate under some of the world's most stringent environmental and resource-efficiency regulations. From the pulp and paper mills of British Columbia and Quebec to the massive agri-food processing hubs in Ontario and the Prairies, the management of solid-liquid separation is critical to operational viability. The demand for high-efficiency dewatering systems, specifically Single Screw Presses, has surged as factories seek to reduce transport volumes, lower landfill tipping fees, and recover valuable process water.
In municipal wastewater treatment and industrial biosolid processing, Canadian operators face the challenge of handling complex, variable sludges. Traditional centrifuges and belt presses are increasingly viewed as energy-intensive and maintenance-heavy. The single screw press offers a low-speed, high-torque alternative that achieves superior cake dryness with a fraction of the energy consumption. Furthermore, Canada's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions has pushed factories to adopt technologies that minimize thermal drying requirements by maximizing mechanical dewatering beforehand.
Optimized compression ratios to handle primary and secondary biological sludges with high fiber content.
Sanitary designs for corn wet milling, potato starch extraction, and spent grain dewatering.
Enabling closed-loop water recycling systems to meet provincial Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) mandates.
The core of Jiangsu Zongheng's Single Screw Press lies in its progressive compression design. Unlike standard filtration systems, our screw presses utilize a variable-pitch screw shaft combined with a tapered core. As the material travels along the length of the press, the volume between the screw flights decreases, generating high mechanical pressure that forces liquid through the surrounding screen basket.

A single screw press rarely operates in isolation. To achieve maximum efficiency and environmental compliance, Canadian factories require integrated process lines where dewatering, evaporation, and drying work in harmony. Jiangsu Zongheng specializes in designing and manufacturing these complete, closed-loop systems.
In corn wet milling and bio-ethanol production, the slurry from the Degerming Mill is washed via a Starch Washing Cyclone. The fiber and germ fractions are then routed to the Single Screw Press, which reduces moisture content from 80% down to 55-60%. The dewatered cake is subsequently fed into a steam-heated Tube Bundle Dryer, while the filtrate is concentrated in a multi-effect Falling Film Evaporator to produce Condensed Distillers Solubles (CDS).
For chemical and petrochemical plants, wastewater containing high suspended solids is first concentrated using a Forced Circulation Evaporator. The resulting slurry is processed by the screw press to separate crystalline salts and heavy organics. The remaining liquid is recycled back to the evaporator, while the dry solids are discharged for safe disposal, achieving complete water recovery.
Jiangsu Zongheng Concentrating and Drying Equipment Co., Ltd (formerly Yixing Yangxi Light Industry Machinery Factory), established in 1992, operates a modern 54,000 square meter manufacturing base in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province. As a member of the China Starch and Alcohol Association, we have spent over three decades refining our production processes to meet global standards.
Our Factory 4.0 initiative integrates advanced CNC machining, automated welding robots, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to ensure every piece of equipment meets the highest quality thresholds. Holding the ASME "U" Stamp and ISO9001 certification, we guarantee that our pressure vessels, evaporators, and screw presses comply with the rigorous safety codes demanded by Canadian provincial regulators (such as TSSA in Ontario and RBQ in Quebec).
By sourcing raw materials directly from tier-one steel mills and utilizing highly efficient localized supply chains in Jiangsu, we provide Canadian buyers with an unmatched balance of cost-efficiency, technical precision, and rapid delivery schedules.
Exporting heavy industrial machinery to Canada requires strict adherence to local engineering codes. Jiangsu Zongheng ensures full compliance through the following measures:
We design and register our pressurized components (such as steam jackets on dryers and evaporators) to obtain Canadian Registration Numbers (CRN) across all provinces.
Control panels are built using CSA-certified components (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider) and undergo full electrical safety inspections prior to shipment.
For outdoor installations in regions like Alberta or Northern Ontario, we provide heat tracing, specialized insulation, and low-temperature carbon steel/stainless steel alloys.
As industries move toward smart manufacturing, Jiangsu Zongheng is leading the integration of digital technologies into solid-liquid separation equipment. Our technical roadmap focuses on three main pillars:
